When some of the guys that were trying to start a chapter of Kappa Sigma at Furman started rushing me, I immediately recognized what a great group they were. I instantly knew that I could contribute to the founding of the chatper in a positive way, and that joining would have a significant impact on my life. It has been less than a year since I met many of the brothers and only 18 weeks since we recieved our charter and I already have a strong sense of brotherhood with all of the guys. These are guys that push you to excel in all aspects of your life and make you a better person. I know for a fact that many of these guys are going to do great things after college and I am excited to see everyone succeed. On top of that, it has been incredibly fun in this short period of time. After all, we are in college and we only get to live once. The key is to balance your academics and all of the brothers recognize this and I have found it easy to keep my grades my number one priority. I am also proud to be a part of this fraternity because of the positive effect we have on the community. We have participated in multiple volunteer projects including a walk to raise money for Multiple Schlerosis research and treatment.
