Although I am not a college athlete, I still love to follow and play sports. Raised in Georgia since the 4th grade, I am an Atlanta sports fan and I always will be. Even though my preferred sports to watch are baseball, basketball, and football, my sport is tennis. I played high school varsity tennis my sophomore, junior, and senior years and we were state runner-ups my junior and senior years. I played second line doubles during my sophomore year. My partner was Biola Brinson. It was a fun year, but we did not make it far in the state championship and I still had a lot of room for improvement in my game. The next year, I played second line doubles again because our line one doubles team was one of the best in the state. That year, I was given the award of Most Improved Player and we lost in the finals of state and were runner-ups. My senior year, I was co-captain and Biola and I played line one doubles and had a lot of chemistry from playing together. Once again, we lost in the finals of the state championship, this time to our rival. While still an accomplishment, this was a disappointment for me becuase I wouldn't get another chance, and for the underclassmen because they knew it was the last year we would be good. Overall I had a great experience being on the tennis team. We all got along great, we won regions every year, and I enjoy playing to this day.
Although I have never played anything else on a serious level, I enjoy playing all sports, particularly basketball and golf. There are two aspects of sports that contribute to my love for playing them: competition and exercise. Any form of competition is always fun and I personally hate to work out, so sports are an awesome way for me to stay in shape.
